Biography       

Trevor Knight OBE, M.Lib, FCLIP, FRSA, Chair of Public Libraries Group of CILIP

Trevor was Executive Head of Library, Heritage and Registration Services with the London Borough of Sutton until July 2006 when he took early retirement from the council.  He had been head of service for 14 years and previously had worked in public libraries in Brent, Berkshire, Walsall, Somerset and Buckinghamshire.

His past achievements include President of the Association of London Chief Librarians, Public Library Entrepreneur of the Year and the original UK representative on the Bertelsmann International Network of Public Libraries.

He is currently the PLG Group councillor on CILIP council and enjoying his second year as national chair of PLG.  Trevor was awarded the OBE for services to local government in the New Years Honours list for 2006.
