Graham Newman  

Biography: Graham was elected as a Suffolk County Councillor for Felixstowe Coastal division in May 2005.  He was made Portfolio Holder for the county's Adult & Community Services, which includes responsibility for the library service, in May 2006.  He is a keen supporter of the service at the political level, and has overseen significant new developments such as    the introduction of an IT-equipped mobile library with on-line services using satellite technology, and a programme to similarly equip more vehicles in the fleet   as well as  an extension of community activities in library buildings, eg a    b aby café and older people's clubs .
