Public Library Authorities Conference 2008

Programme Director, Joyce Little, Head of Liverpool Libraries and Information Services has created an extremely topical programme that will update you on the major developments, themes and challenges facing public libraries.

If you are an elected member responsible for libraries, a chief librarian or senior manager, this is the one library conference you must attend in the year.  It is also a great opportunity to experience the European Capital of Culture for 2008, what better time to see this vibrant and innovative city.

Conference Themes

Culture connects individuals and communities and provides inspiration and a sense of place for everyone.  Libraries are at the heart of cultural life.  Through debate and discussion the conference will explore these themes:

Inspiring Creativity through the local authority cultural offer to adults and children and engagement with Local Area Agreements

Changing Lives in this National Year of Reading through engaging with new readers and promoting diversity

Connecting People through digital technologies such as Web 2.0

*Sponsored Delegates: The Public Libraries Group has three sponsored places and a Personal Learning Grant to be awarded for the Public Library Authorities Conference
