Tim Grier

Tim Grier is the Managing Director of John Laing Integrated Services,(JLIS), service organisation whose prime objective is the effective management of environments and services to improve the productivity and effectiveness of our clients' core operation. JLIS manages 23 public sector contracts across the UK including the local authority, education and transport sectors. Tim has occupied a number of positions in both the private and public sectors, leading considerable business expansion programmes in the areas of service, manufacturing and local authorities. He has been the Managing Director of John Laing Integrated Services since September 2004.

Looking through a new window: Private sector delivery of Libraries

The London Borough of Hounslow is the first local authority to outsource the management of its Libraries to the private sector, as part of the Library, Arts, Heritage and Parks Portfolio.  John Laing Integrated Services has been successfully delivering this contract since July 2008, managing 11 libraries across the borough. In this session, Tim Grier and Claire Griffiths will discuss the private sector experience and the benefits this has brought to the delivery of  Library services in Hounslow.
