Public Library Impact, Changed Priorities....Or Shared Priorities

PLA Speaker Presentations !!- Please note that all presentations that were handed in and saved onsite have now been uploaded onto the conference website.  They appear in the programme link either under the presentation title or where there were multiple presentations happening in one timeslot they are linked under the organisational name.

The PLA conference is being sponsored by a host of organisations.

Last year we saw the publication of Framework for the Future, the key national strategy document for the future of public libraries.  One year on, is Framework helping public libraries to punch above their weight in local, regional and national agendas?  Will the Framework strategy lead to success?

This year's conference demonstrates the impact the public library sector can and does make, and explores the reality behind the rhetoric with a range of speakers who are crucially involved in new models of service delivery and dynamic partnerships.

At PLA 2004 you will hear from leading politicians and executive officers at national, regional and local levels, all outlining their view of how the public library service helps them deliver.....and could help even more.

And in Newcastle for the first time, this PLA will provide you with examples of best practice.....showcasing Tyneside and the region's public library buildings and facilities.

Shared commitment delivers shared priorities.  For members and officers, this conference will raise expectations, and also raise the stakes.

Programme updates will be emailed to you regularly, and posted on this site, as subjects and speakers are confirmed.
