Abstract
- The National and Public Library Partnership
Are libraries
still relevant in a world where more information than ever before
is freely available to the public via other channels? Can libraries
successfully compete with other information providers and leisure
activities to retain and grow their user base? This talk will outline
some of the key challenges facing the public library sector today.
It will consider the ways in which libraries can and are working
to tackle these challenges through reaching out in new ways to their
users, working in partnership and through repositioning and representing
libraries for the 21 st century.
