Lucy McCarraher

Biography

Lucy is an expert in personal and organisational work-life balance and flexible working. She has worked as a consultant to companies like Microsoft, Virgin, Lloyds TSB, GlaxoSmithKline, and also to public sector organisations including local authorities and NHS Trusts. She has written The Work Life Manual for organisations and The Book of Balanced Living for individuals. She has advised government and judges the annual Employer of the Year and Best Boss Awards for the charity Working Families

Flexible working - is it working?

Abstract

This session will take a look at where the campaign for Work Life Balance has taken us over the last few years: new legislation, organisational initiatives, best practice and lip service. I will look at what really makes flexible working work - the barriers and the opportunities, with case studies. The flexible future.
