Induction is the way organisations choose to welcome new staff into their way of working providing an effective introduction to the organisation’s culture. The main aim of an induction programme is to encourage staff to start their new job feeling fully committed, confident they have made the right decision and keen to improve their skills and competencies. By the end of the programme they should feel fully assimilated into their team. Research has shown that well thought out induction programmes lead to reduced staff turnover and costs.
