Biography:
Adam is a Senior Lecturer
in Information Systems at the University of Bath. He is author of
'Understanding the Psychology of the Internet' (Palgrave, 2003),
co-author of 'Truth, Lies and Trust on the Internet' (Routledge,
2008), and lead editor of the 'Oxford Handbook of Internet Psychology'
(OUP, 2007). His research interests cover communication via technology,
privacy, trust and security issues from a user-perspective, the
use of technology in research, mobile commerce and marketing, and
the psychology of social network sites. His research has been financially
supported by the ESRC, EPSRC, British Academy and the Technology
Strategy Board. He has acted in a consultancy capacity for numerous
new technology organizations and Government departments. Although
a psychologist by training, Adam has worked in, and across, a number
of disciplines, including psychology, educational technology, management
information systems, information science and technology studies.
