Kelvin Smith

Kelvin recently retired as Head of the Accessions Management Unit and Records Management Consultant in the Records Management and Cataloguing Department of The National Archives.  His particular specialisations include records appraisal and archiving, records management standards and the promotion of records management in Government.  Most recently, he drafted the Lord Chancellor's Code of Practice on the Management of Records under Freedom of Information. As well as writing a number of books and being a regular presenter of records management issues at conferences, workshops and seminars, he has undertaken frequent assignments in developing countries, mainly in East and Southern Africa, on behalf of the International Records Management Trust.
