Jill
Johnstone is
an economist who joined the National Consumer Council
in
1981 as a Senior Policy Officer. Prior to this, Jill worked in industry
for
a
major trade association.
At
the National Consumer Council she has worked on a wide range of
policy issues including trade, competition and agriculture, about
which she has produced some significant publications.
In
1999 she was seconded to the Performance and Innovation Unit of
the Cabinet Office as part of their project team looking at international
trade issues.
For
the past four years, Jill has been the National Consumer Council's
Director of Policy, working with our Deputy Director of Policy to
oversee our four strategic themes: public services, open markets,
disadvantage: and sustainability.
As
a policy advocate and author, Jill has continued to work directly
on policy, most notably on consumers and innovation and intellectual
property projects publishing submissions to the European Commission,
government and Parliamentary enquiries.
