Why

This
new Briefing will explore LIS initiatives with young people
as well as future roles for LIS in working with young people.
The event aims to clarify the thinking of Government Departments
and agencies to NEET's and explain the implications of this for
public sector funding. Additionally, the aim is to raise awareness
of NEET challenges and the partnerships development process as well
as developing recommendations for LIS in supporting NEET's.
The
comprehensive panel of expert speakers will:
- Present
keynote addresses from the Department for Children, Schools
and Families (DCSF) and the Learning and Skills Council (LSC).
- Describe
the challenges for LIS as seen by The Princes Trust, National
Youth Agency and the Reading Development Agency
- Report
practical Case Studies from local authority Library
and Information Services including Lincolnshire County Council,
Derbyshire County Council, the London Borough of Lewisham, and
the London Borough of Southwark.
