Brian Green

Biography 

Brian Green is manager of EDItEUR, the international organization developing e-commerce-related standards for the book and serials industry. He is also Executive Director of the International ISBN Agency and Chairman of ISO TC46 SC9, the ISO committee responsible for identifiers in the information community. Brian's background is in the book publishing industry working with various publishers, the Publishers Association and BIC.

Abstract:

Early implementations of RFID in libraries have treated their organizations as self-contained islands concentrating on functionality and cost, with little attention to interoperability. As the number of RFID-enabled libraries grows, increased attention is being paid to developing standards that will facilitate interlibrary loan, allow libraries to source tags from a choice of suppliers and reduce implementation costs. This presentation looks at how interoperability standards are being developed.
