Mike Berrington

Biography 

Mike Berrington is Deputy University Librarian (Customer Services) at Nottingham Trent University where he has responsibility for all forward facing services.  Prior to obtaining this position in 2005 Mike had responsibility at Nottingham Trent for the development of electronic services, and in that capacity was closely involved in Nottingham Trent's RFID self-service project.

Abstract:

In 2003/4 Nottingham Trent University implemented what was then the largest RFID self-service operation in a UK academic library.  Mike will present a case study looking at the technical, contactual and service aspects of this major development, with particular reference to the impact on students and library staff.
