Diana Edmonds

Biography

Diana Edmonds is Head of the Libraries, Archives and Museum Service in the London Borough of Haringey.  Previously, Diana worked in the private sector as Managing Director of Instant Libraries Limited, and is now also working with the London Borough of Waltham Forest to improve their Library Service.

Abstract:

Haringey Libraries has now implemented RFID in two locations.  The results of the pilot implementation in Marcus Garvey Library have been dramatic; 70% of material is now issued by the customer and as a consequence the number of staff required to undertake routine issuing and discharging activities has been reduced.

Staff have been enthusiastic about the opportunities that RFID provides, and in this session Diana Edmonds will discuss the way in which Haringey has managed staff and altered working practices to obtain the best value from RFID implementation.
