Top Tip on dealing with difficult people

As Maurice Line (1) said 'some people are born difficult; some achieve difficultness, and some have difficultness thrust upon them'. Other people’s behaviours can have a positive or negative impact on how we view our work. Those that have positive relationships at work tend to stay in the job.    Developing shared goals with the people we work with means that we have something we can build on, however small. One of the major things cited in management books, is that it is not the people we have the problem with, but the behaviour they are displaying.  In these times of changing services, technologies and organisational restructuring, it is no surprise that we get in to conflict with other work colleagues.  There are various ways we can handle conflict, one of the most productive is through collaboration, so that both sides can try to satisfy their own goals and concerns.
