The internationally recognised CILIP Framework of Qualifications is available to library and information staff at all levels. The qualifications framework recognises and builds on existing educational qualifications and work-based learning.
The Framework of Qualifications consists of:
Certification (ACLIP)
Certification recognises the contribution made in library and information work by para-professionals. Affiliated Members of CILIP may apply for Certification.
Chartered Membership (MCLIP)
Chartered Membership is the second level of professional qualification awarded by CILIP and is considered the ‘gold standard’ for library and information professionals.
Fellowship (FCLIP)
Fellowship is the highest level of professional qualification awarded by CILIP. It recognises a significant level of personal commitment and achievement.
Revalidation
Revalidation provides the opportunity for all Chartered Members to demonstrate their commitment to personal professional development.
