CILIP portfolio e-submissions

To submit electronically you should continue to follow the guidance in the appropriate handbook. However we also ask you to use these guidelines:

1. Put your documents in one clearly labelled folder. If possible include everything in one file or document
2. Use 'Hyperlink' in the Insert tab from the tool bar to link to documents in within the folder
3. Use 'Hyperlink' to link to URLs*
4.
Use 'Bookmark' (also found in Insert tab) to link to sentences, paragraphs, sections and pages within documents
5. When you create a link please add a reciprocal link from the evidence to take the assessor back to the Evaluative Statement
6. If the documents can be easily and clearly included in one file then you can use the 'contents table', which may be found under the 'references' tab, to create a contents list that links to your evidence
7. Copy your portfolio on to three disks or USBs and return to CPD CILIP, 7 Ridgmount St, London WC1E 7AE with the appropriate submission form (see the individual qualification's page on the left hand menu)

Do not send large portfolios: With electronic submissions there is a temptation to include more material than necessary. There is no limit however good submissions have been made between 50 and 80 pages long. To help you decide what to include you should:

Only use evidence that it is important for the Board members to read

Ensure all evidence has been referenced from the statement

Refrain from including long documents that can be summarized

If you prefer to submit in print...

Do use comb binding or similar. It makes your portfolio compact so it's easier and cheaper to send. Also it's flexible so while being secure it still allows you to make last minutes changes.

Do not use ring binders or lever arch files. They are less secure and more expensive to send by post.

Do not use plastic pockets for your pages. They aren't easy to read and do not photocopy well.

* Print Screen

Please note that URLs may be down or have been changed when assessors come to look at your portfolio. You are advised to include a screenshot which can be pasted into a word document

  • Press the Print Screen key on your keyboard and then press control and V when in your destination document. This will paste everything visible on your monitor into the new document.
  • To copy a single window press Control Alt Print Screen and then press Control and V in your destination document. This will just paste the open window into your document
