Chapter One has been set up by Myai Du and Gerri McHugh, from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, to support graduates and employers participating in the CILIP Graduate Training Opportunities List
The aims of Chapter One are to:
- Set up a network of libraries willing to host visits for Graduate Trainees. This is to ensure GTs are exposed to a range of library environments (e.g. public, legal, school, corporate) and to assist them in their preparation for their future career.
- Set up a social/support network for Graduate Trainees, to facilitate the sharing of learning, experiences and impressions of the library sector as well as to make new friends in their chosen industry. This could be developed through face-to-face contact and/or through an online forum.
So far, Chapter One has built up a network of over 20 libraries from different sectors agreeing to host visits for Graduate Trainees. If you would like to take part in this initiative and exchange of library visits, please get in touch with Myai Du, m.du@rcvstrust.org.uk.
