Regional Assessor recruitment

Experienced professionals needed to conduct interviews for CILIP's qualifications in all regions, particularly Scotland, South West England and North East England.

Regional Assessors are volunteers who support the work of the Chartership Board and the CILIP Assessment Panel by conducting interviews of Chartership, Certification and Revalidation candidates within their own region.

Board and Panel members have the option to ask a candidate to attend an interview if the application does not meet the criteria wholly but is close to doing so.

We choose assessors from each candidate's region. There may only be one interview in your region in a year or there may be several. The Regional Assessors are in a pool, so if we approach you and you are unable to conduct an interview because of your other commitments or because you know the candidate, we will ask another RA. So you do have control over the number of interviews you do.

This is a voluntary activity but expenses will be covered by CILIP.

Regional Assessors should be

• able to evaluate submissions against set criteria
• have evidence of commitment to staff development and training
• evidence of commitment to continuing professional development.
• should be a Certified, Chartered Member or Fellow (ACLIP, MCLIP or FCLIP)
• able to meet deadlines and work under reasonable pressure
• have good interpersonal and collaboration skills

If you have experience of assessing against set criteria and would like to find out more about becoming a Regional Assessor, then contact Michael Martin on 020 7255 0625 or Michael.Martin@cilip.org.uk
