Making the most of your time and resources

Today’s economic environment poses many challenges to Library and Information Professionals that want to make the best of limited time and resources.

The process improvement (Lean and Six Sigma) techniques covered in this programme will provide a foundation of sound working practices to ensure that Library and Information Professionals fully understand what their customers value, can deliver that value as efficiently as possible, and can free up the talent within their organisations to continue to provide high quality products and services.

By the end of the course participants will have learned a structured approach and a selection of tools for:

  • Clarifying customer requirements and business, team or personal deliverables in relation to these
  • Identifying and mapping existing internal processes
  • Measuring performance and analyzing issues with current processes
  • Identifying and evaluating opportunities for improving processes

Participants will have developed individual action plans and measures to follow-up within their organisation.

This course will be of benefit to Library and Information Professionals working in academic, public and private sector organisations that wish to find ways to implement good business practices for making more effective and efficient use of their time, resources and talent.

Please note that no prior knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma is assumed and all jargon will be explained in simple terms.
