Francis Muzzu: Manager of Infomatch
 |
Francis has been Manager of Infomatch since April 2006, and has been working in information recruitment since 1999. “Since joining Infomatch”, he says, “I have enjoyed the challenge of recruiting and developing a new team, and streamlining our working systems and processes. Working at CILIP is a real bonus, not just for the friendly and supportive atmosphere, but for the real |
understanding of the information world across all staff, which links in with everything Infomatch is working for. It’s an ideal position to be in, working in recruitment at the heart of your professional body!”
Francis is in fact a qualified librarian, having gained his MSc in Information and Library Studies from Aberystwyth, which he added to his BA in English and MA in Arts Administration: he has also gained his MREC (adv). He greatly enjoys the liaison aspects of his role, and has developed a particular reputation for his legal information recruitment skills. He is well known in the information world, enjoying networking and socialising with both his clients and candidates. He is also a committee member of CLIG, and writes for a variety of information publications, as well as speaking at conferences such as Umbrella and BIALL. He gives talks and lectures to students at the start of their careers, and is very hands-on with guidance and development.
Out of work, Francis is an enthusiastic cook, an avid if unfussy reader, and is passionate about opera; he writes and reviews regularly in Europe for an international magazine.

Charlotte Ross: Senior Consultant
 |
Charlotte Ross – Senior Recruitment Consultant Charlotte joined Infomatch in May 2006, bringing with her a wealth of information recruitment experience from her two previous roles as well as hands on library assistant experience. |
She says “I get immense satisfaction from the ‘people’ aspect of the job, relationship building with candidates and clients. The information world is relatively small and it really allows you to get to grips with the sector”. Charlotte has given talks at careers seminars leading workshops on CVs and job hunting.
Charlotte has a BA (Hons) in Surface Design and still has a strong interest in the arts – she uses her skills in a voluntary capacity by working with community groups, ranging from marshalling for the Tour de France to assisting at a community theatre group, helping children make props and costumes.

Kathryn Blackley: Consultant and Payroll Officer
 |
Kathryn joined Infomatch in September 2006, after returning from a working trip to Australia. She works on recruiting candidates into both permanent and temporary roles cross-sector, and also looks after Infomatch’s Temps’ Payroll, where her organisational and financial skills come to the fore – if you temp for us you will get to know her well! |
Kathryn first got the taste for her current role when she temped for an information recruitment company after she graduated in 2004, with a BA(Hons) in Geography from the University of Birmingham. (And she already had some hands-on information experience, having worked every summer for five years in libraries in Surrey.) Having temped for six months she embarked on her first solo travels around the world, spending three months visiting Australia, New Zealand and America.
When she returned to London Kathryn worked for a PR Company for a year, gaining more skills in admin, finance and office management. In March of 2006 she returned to Australia, this time to live and work there. She quickly got a job in Melbourne working for a recruitment company in their HR Consulting division: it was here she gained excellent experience of co-managing and co-ordinating a state government graduate recruitment scheme with over 2000 applicants. She then continued her travels around Australia with her partner before returning to the UK to start work at Infomatch. Kathryn has completed REC courses on Introduction to Recruitment Practise and Introduction to Interviewing.
Outside work Kathryn is enthusiast of all forms of dance and loves going to the theatre to see West End shows or dance performances. She is also a big fan of live music and loves going to gigs, especially seeing her Dad and his band and drumming up support for his charity gigs.

Laura Cherry: Assistant Consultant

Laura was recruited by Infomatch in 2006, having originally registered as a candidate looking for library work. She graduated in 2005 with a BA in Fine Art from the Byam Shaw School of Art (part of Central St. Martins College), and had a variety of temporary roles including working in several London galleries |
and administrative jobs before settling here. She has undergone rigorous training in all aspects of recruitment, attending REC and CILIP courses and has now had a ‘crash course’ in the world of Libraries and Information!
“ It’s been great fun working with such a good team at a time of change: I’ve learned masses about the industry. I love the fact that we share our knowledge and experiences, and CILIP staff have been very helpful too! We play to our own strengths, so I’ve been able to take on extra duties and diversify my own skills. I’m an inquisitive person and particularly enjoy meeting our candidates and hearing all about their diverse backgrounds. It’s a rewarding job and it certainly keeps us all on our toes!”
Laura is a member of ARLIS and is a keen writer on the subject of contemporary art, regularly contributing to art publications and websites. She has curated and helped to organise several exhibitions in her spare time.
