Incomes Data Services defines job evaluation as ‘a means of comparing jobs to ascertain their relative worth to an organisation at any given time’. (IDS Studies plus, Job Evaluation, Summer 2003).
Job evaluation is an evaluation of the role, not the person doing it.
Librarians in different sectors are currently going through job evaluation initiatives.
