Graduates from all disciplines can find a route into all sectors of library and information work.
You will need to gain some experience of library and information work before enrolling on a course. The CILIP Graduate Training Opportunities scheme, published every October, is ideal and well regarded by the universities offering CILIP accredited courses. As well as studying full-time you can use your trainee experience to find a permanent post and then study by day-release or by distance learning.
Once you have gained an accredited award you can practise as a librarian and information professional all over the world. You can also register with us to become a Chartered Member of CILIP.
