Chartered Membership is open to all members with the necessary qualifications and professional experience, both in the UK and overseas.
Under the terms of the Royal Charter awarded in 2002 the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals maintains a professional Register of Chartered Members. There are two categories of Chartered Member, Members and Fellows.
In order to qualify for Chartered status a Member of the Chartered Institute has to provide evidence of successful completion of an accredited programme of education and then have demonstrated the appropriate skills through professional practice.
