The Government's Prevent Strategy is part of an overall counter-terrorist strategy and proposes steps to remove 'unlawful' and 'harmful' content online in schools, public libraries and other public buildings. As a result the strategy could potentially impact on CILIP members in a variety of sectors.

CILIP has therefore produced a briefing paper on the Prevent strategy exploring those areas with especial relevance to libraries and existing CILIP policy statements that are relevant to the issues it raises.
