Trustees of CILIP have elected three new officers. John Dolan will serve as Chair of Council, Emma McDonald as Vice Chair and Nick Poole as Treasurer. They will take up their roles with immediate effect until the end of 2012.
The Chair of CILIP’s Trustees acts as leader of Council, planning and chairing meetings and working closely with the Chief Executive. At CILIP, the Chair has the casting vote and therefore greater responsibility than any other member of Council. The Chair may also be the link between the trustees and the employees and represent CILIP at appropriate events. However, when it comes to making decisions about the charity, the trustees must take them together.
The Treasurer ensures that CILIP’s accounts are properly kept and will recommend financial and investment policies to Council. Working closely with CILIP’s Chief Executive and Director of Resources, the Treasurer will ensure scrutiny of CILIP’s finances and recommend the member subscription model.
The Vice-Chair of CILIP works with the Chair and deputises for their duties should they be absent.
