Keith Wilson, Liz McGettigan, Mike Hosking and Maria Cotera have been elected as Councillors of CILIP.
The new Councillors will serve on CILIP Council from 1 January 2012 until 31 December 2014.
“I would like to thank all the candidates who stood for election,” said Leader of Council, Isabel Hood, “They all got involved in lively discussion on the ehustings forum and at the hustings event. I wish the elected Councillors every success over their three year term.”
The election turnout was 23%, which is 3% lower than in 2010 but consistent with 2009.
CILIP Council consists of twelve individuals who are elected by the membership and are Trustees of CILIP. Up to three additional Trustees can be co-opted. Council meets several times a year and also regularly communicates by email. Council sets and oversees CILIP’s overall strategic direction and Council must ensure that CILIP acts within its charitable objects at all times.
