If you would like to give Chartership candidates more information about yourself as a mentor then you can use the Communities of Practice.
If you have already registered on the CILIP website you can use your user name and password to get into the Communities of Practice (CoP) site from the CILIP homepage or enter http://communities.cilip.org.uk/.
If you haven't already registered then click on Login from the menu along the top of the homepage of the CILIP website or enter www.cilip.org.uk/register and follow the instructions for new registration.
Once you login to the CoP you can see your name underlined at the top of the page. Click on this to add and edit your details.
It's pretty self explanatory but as a mentor the important information will be in Biography and About. This is where you can let potential candidates know something about your background, the sorts of services you've worked in, your CILIP qualifications and your training as a mentor.
If you have a digital photo and would like to upload it under the Avatar tab, please read this advice from the Web Editor, Stephanie Baxter:
Most of you are keen to include images on your websites - which is fine. But as you know, these images have to be below certain widths to fit into the placeholders in the CMS. Please be careful about resizing images. You should do this before loading them up into the Resource Gallery in the CMS. Some of you are loading up huge files and then just resizing them onscreen - but unfortunately that just condenses the file and you end up with something which doesn't look very good and is still 1Mbyte in size. Once you have added your details email quals@cilip.org.uk at Ridgmount St with your user name. We will use this to add a link to your details in the mentor list on the website so that candidates can go directly to them once they've browsed the names by region.
