The CILIP Seal of Recognition acknowledges the important contribution made by the many excellent providers of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for the library and information community. The Seal of Recognition recognises high standards in the content and relevance of a wide range of training and development activities, and is awarded to CPD providers that directly address an element of CILIP's
Body of Professional Knowledge
(BPK). This new award offers training providers an additional incentive to support and enhance CPD opportunities for LIS practitioners at all stages of their careers. All sizes and types of training organisation can apply, and all appropriate formats of CPD activity of any duration are eligible. Applications are reviewed by independent assessors from the CILIP Accreditation Board, and CILIP maintains a
list of successful applicants
.
The new Seal of Recognition will enable CILIP members to choose training and development activities with confidence, knowing that these have been independently assessed and reviewed.
Further information about the Seal of Recognition is available in the
brochure
and in the
Gazette article
Training providers for the library and information community are invited to contact the Qualifications and Professional Development Department at CILIP to request further details and an application pack
