Seminars and courses

The ADLG organises valuable learning opportunities.

In September 2006 the ADLG held a Knowledge Management event at PricewaterhouseCoopers. To read a report of the event please click here.

An over-subscribed and very well received seminar on "Managing e-collections in the specialist sector" took place in 2005.

ADLG also ran a seminar at the 2005 Umbrella conference on Acquiring and Maintaining Specialist Knowledge. The presentation given can be viewed here.

An active seminar and course programme has included topics such as "Electronic Information : Success / Failure" a seminar for existing and new entrants to the profession working in aerospace and defence-related libraries, "Online Searching for Aerospace and Defence Librarians", "Sources of Technical Reports", "New ways of promoting and delivering information within the organisation" (on the Internet and Intranets).

Our presenters are experienced people from a wide range of institutions and our events are well-organised and good value for money.

Job Shadowing

Through the ADLG Committee job shadowing can be arranged whereby individuals spend time in another library and information environment. For more information on the scheme please click here.

Celia Waters, Chair of the ADLG, undertook a period of job shadowing in Grenoble, France. To read about her experiences please click here.
