The Group operates nationally with a committee of twelve, elected over a three year period and meeting three times per annum to organise a series of training courses and publications.

The group also produces an annual report which is available on this website.

The two main events organised each year are the National Mobilemeet and the Weekend School. The National Mobilemeet brings together some 50 mobile libraries of varying size and functions and over 250 staff (including drivers and assistants) to hear papers on aspects of mobile library services.

The opportunity to look at the most recent examples of mobile library design enables the Group to claim that this annual event has influenced the development and design of mobile libraries in the UK and elsewhere, resulting in stylish, well-fitted and comfortable-to-use vehicles.

The annual Weekend School puts forward a practical and enjoyable programme which benefits staff at all levels. Topics include staff training and motivation, design and display work, bookstock selection, and management and service development.

The Group journal Servicepoint is issued three times per year and an active publications programme covers a range of practical subjects relevant to the interests and needs of members.
