Aerospace and Defence Librarians Group (ADLG)

Aerospace and Defence Librarians Group (ADLG)
The Aerospace and Defence Librarians Group (ADLG) is a CILIP Special Interest Group which brings together information staff working in a wide range of Aerospace and Defence institutions including government, industry, academic organisations, learned societies and research associations.

ADLG was – until 12 December 2007 - a subgroup of the Commercial, Legal & Scientific Information Group (CLSIG). All this has now changed, and thanks to the support of a great many members of both Groups and of other CILIP members, ADLG is now a fully-fledged Special Interest Group of CILIP in their own right, which CILIP members can specifically select as one of the Groups to which they may belong, as well as membership being open to non-members of CILIP.

Unfortunately this change occurred at the final meeting of the old CILIP Council which has now been dissolved, and after CILIP membership renewal forms had been printed and distributed. We have been assured by the Branches & Groups Directorate at Ridgmount Street that they will accept written or e-mailed instructions from any member who wishes to belong to ADLG as one of their free Groups or as an additional Group at the £10 fee.

This important news does not seem to be on the CILIP website yet, and the ADLG website has not yet been updated either. Please take the necessary action over this if you wish to be a member of ADLG, whether or not you have already renewed your CILIP membership, and please urge both organisations to update their information to all members.
