Travel/Accommodation Subsidies
ICLG is a voluntary organisation, a charity, and we have a duty to be careful with our money. We whole-heartedly encourage ICLG activists to help us run stands at key exhibitions (such as the Library and Information Show and Umbrella). People who go can also help by writing reports on events for the Newsletter.
ICLG is prepared to pay up to 100% of the travel and accommodation expenses of members who support us by working for us at these events, provided that their going is agreed by the committee. However we encourage people not to ask for more than 75%. We feel that people get a lot of benefit and that a 25% contribution is fair. Still, if you want the 100% just ask for it, you certainly don't need to justify yourself in any way.
We encourage members to ask their employer for a financial contribution - the employers gain significant benefit from your professional development and are often willing to back you in whole or in part.
ICLG is very keen to promote the attendance of regional reps at its committee meetings and regional reps should claim the full 100% of accommodation and travel expenses if their employer does not wish to pay.
If you are interested in helping us at an event contact the Chair or the Secretary; if you wish to represent your region please contact the Regional Officer.
Send feedback to ICLG Chair.
