SLIM
SLIM is a networking group for workplace librarians in the Midlands. It was set up in 1998 by Margaret Brittin and Chris Crabtree, partners in Information Unlimited, a Midlands-based information consultancy and training provider, in conjunction with CILIP.
It has already held a number of successful, well attended meetings in Midlands, where as well as discussing the future role of the group, topics have ranged far and wide including knowledge management and the personal impact and image of library professionals. Members come from a wide range of backgrounds - libraries in the corporate sector, law firms, professional bodies, research associations and the voluntary sector to mention a few. But there is much in common and the level of enthusiasm for developing the group has been very encouraging.
The group is keen to attract more librarians to join - it's open to all workplace librarians in the Midlands, whether you're a CILIP member or not. There are no fees for joining and most meetings are free!
If you would like details of the next meeting please contact
