About us
The Education Librarians Group (ELG) encompasses library and information professionals in all areas and at all levels of the education sector, united by a commitment to the support of life-long learning.
The distinctiveness of the ELG within CILIP is to be found in
-
the applying and sharing of expertise across, and to the benefit of the whole range of educational contexts.
-
library support for the training and professional development of teaching staff in all sectors of education
-
library support for educational research and policy-making.

The Education Librarians Group has over a thousand members involved in HE, FE, teacher training, and schools.
ELG provides a forum to discuss concerns and to support professional development, and is represented on a number of other organizations.
We arrange a program of activities around the regions on educational topics and take part in Umbrella, CILIP's biennial Conference.
We publish ELG News free to members every term, and run lis-educ, the e-mail discussion list based at Jiscmail.
