GLIG visit to the House of Commons Library on Wednesday 13 February 2008, 10 am to 4.30pm
An exciting and rare opportunity for a behind the scenes visit to the House of Commons Library in the Palace of Westminster.

The visit is strictly limited to 8 places and applications should be made to Karen Gommersall by Wednesday 9 January 2008. Places are allocated on a first come first served basis.

This visit is now fully booked, we are hoping to arrange another visit at a later date.

Would you like to see behind the scenes visit to the Supreme Court library? The Supreme Court library at the Royal Court of Justice looks after the Court of Appeal and High Court.
Please note: A lift will be used on the tour of the building/library, but there are a few stairs to go up and down as well.

An exciting and rare opportunity for a behind the scenes visit to the new Home Office Library. The library subject areas reflect Home Office aims: Community & Race; Crime & Policing; Justice & Victims; Tackling Drugs; Terrorism; and Immigration & Nationality. The library also has a broadband CyberCafe.

Joined Up Government
21 June 2006, DfES Moorfoot building in Sheffield. The Network in the North is a group open to all librarians and other information management specialists (in fields such as records and knowledge management) with an interest in the management of information to support public administration in government and related sectors. The group is sponsored by the Network of Government Library and Information Specialists (NGLIS), the Government Libraries and Information Group (GLIG) and TFPL.

The GLA (www.london.gov.uk) provides strategic government for London and is made up of an elected Mayor and Assembly. Around 600 staff help the Mayor and Assembly in their duties.
