March 2008; 200pp; hardback; 978-1-85604-637-4: £39.95 (£31.96 to CILIP Members)

Information Literacy Cookbook (July 2007) edited by Jane Secker, Debbi Boden and Gwyneth Price, and aimed at an international audience.  The cookbook provides an overview of information literacy (IL) in practice; what it is, why it’s become so important in the library profession and demonstrates how librarians can cultivate a better understanding of IL in their own organisations.

The University of Google: Education in the (Post) Information Age (2007) by Tara Brabazon.  Tara Brabazon celebrates the possibilities of digital platforms in education, but deplores the consequences of placing funding on technology and not teachers. In doing so, she opens a new debate on how to make our educational system both productive and provocative in the (post-) information age.
