About ISG

The Group’s sphere of interest is championing the management and use of information services in their widest aspects, throughout all sectors of the library and information profession.

Strategic Plan 2008/9

Information provision faces many challenges in the 21st century. However, the opportunities for librarians and information workers have never been so diverse and exciting. Quality information is the gold standard on which many personal and business decisions are made today. Utilising traditional and electronic information communication systems, the information worker can put an enquirer in touch with a wider range of information sources than ever before.

You can contribute to the part information plays in the modern world through the Information Services Group making connections and networking with other people working in the field and enhancing your professional contribution to the world of information and communication. Network with other members through the website or through attendance at meetings.

ISG is run by your National Committee which meets three times a year, usually at CILIP Headquarters, in February, June and October. Representatives of regional groups attend and discussions cover a wide range of issues. Observers are always welcome.

The website will usually include the agenda for the next meeting and the Minutes of meetings.
