Biography
Ciara Eastell has worked in public libraries since 1992. Her career has included employment with public library services in Nottinghamshire, Gateshead, Cambridgeshire and most recently in Somerset, where she was Principal Assistant County Librarian. In May 2005, Ciara took up a new role with The Reading Agency, as Senior Adviser / Project Manager, a role which is focused on improving services to 11-19 year olds in libraries across England, as part of the transformation programme initiated by Framework for the Future. Ciara is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
Abstract
Ciara will provide an update on the Books, Reading and Learning strand of Framework for the Future and will give her own thoughts on how libraries can develop their role in relation to these key areas in the coming years.
