Biography
Geoff is currently Regional Director for the 'Skills for Life' national strategy, across the West Midlands region, responsible for making sure that levels of adult literacy, language and numeracy needs are being addressed in large-scale ways.
During his career he has been manager of a large scale basic skills renewal programme, has undertaken research and review work, and has worked across a wide range of school/community/adult learning settings.
Abstract
This input will cover three threads
- Where are we in the cycle of delivery of the national
strategy for literacy, language and numeracy
(and ICT)?
- The major aspects of recent developments in
thinking, and how these connect with the themes
of this conference - some of the emerging issues;
unravelling some of the mindsets.
- Some puzzles that form the ongoing agenda to
2007 and beyond.
