Biography
Rachel has been working in public libraries for 8 years. Previous posts include Project Officer for the digitisation project 'Farne'. She is currently Reference and Information Manager for Gateshead Libraries. She manages two service points, including the new library and information service ExploreMusic in The Sage Gateshead. Her responsibilities also include managing the library web site, and so she has led many of Gateshead's initiatives in digital citizenship. Rachel is especially interested in the use of technology to deliver library services, which will be the focus of her presentation.
Abstract
Rachel will provide an update on the Digital Citizenship strand of Framework for the Future, looking at progress over the past year, and will cast her eye forward to developments in the forthcoming years. Is the library profession keeping up with changes in ICT? How do we best adapt to meet these changes?
