Abstract

The 'calculus of prediction' is beyond our control, forecasting the future is notoriously difficult.  However research from many disciplines suggests that we ought to be able to design learning environments that more closely match both our biology and how contemporary knowledge is generated and shared.  Libraries could be critical elements in such designs, enabling 'creative apprenticeships' and connection of learners to deeper individual meanings.
