Don’t be put off by our title Quickstep or Salsa? You won’t be expected to Salsa or Quickstep – unless you want to at one of our social events! We just wanted a title, which would give a sense of change and the way that libraries and library staff need be quick on their feet responding to a new beat, to innovation and the demands of partnership working.
We hope the conference will be of real interest to people working at many different levels in and around public libraries: senior and middle managers; specialists; newly qualified professionals; front-line staff and those who are pursuing Certification; and those who are interested in moving into the public library field.
It all adds up to a packed programme. But there will still be ample time to enjoy the all-important networking with colleagues and the facilities of an excellent conference centre. There should be something to suit everyone in the evenings, with the informality of a barbeque on Friday and the more formal conference dinner on Saturday.
