News from the PLG Chair Kate Millin:
I hope that you are all enjoying the hot weather, and that you have got your booking for Umbrella sorted out by now, don't forget to go along to the PLG sessions to meet members of the committee and support the group.
Those of you that are attending are encouraged to visit the exhibition to see the PLG poster which will announce the shortlisted libraries in the Public Library Buildings Awards for this year. For those of you not able to attend Umbrella the information will be posted here on Tuesday July 14th.
Don't forget that some of the Public Library Journal articles are now published on the PLG website, so make sure you check the site each quarter if you want to share the information from the journal with other colleagues.
Information about the Public Library Authority Conference which is being held in Bristol on the 7th - 9th October is now availiable on the website and will be circulated to each library authority. Book early to avoid disappointment, and if you cannot get a paid place from your local authority look out for the notification of the Public Learning Grant places for the Conference.
I have been asked to include the following in this mail shot by Edwina Smart. The class of 1975 1978 Liverpool Polytechnic School of Librarianship are holding their second reunion at Café Bar 07 Mt Pleasant Liverpool on July 3rd 2009 from 8 pm, Contact Edwina Smart (Williams) think.smart@virgin.net for further details. We still need to contact several missing students from this class.
