BRIXWORTH LIBRARY
Northamptonshire Libraries
“A small library with a good range of services & facilities in an architecturally distinctive building, incorporating a large glazed window, that makes good use of traditional & modern materials.”
Brixworth is a growing village 6 miles north of Northampton. The library is located in the centre of the village where it serves a population mix of new residents, mainly young families and those who have lived there for a long time.
AN INVITING PUBLIC BUILDING
THE INTERIOR HAS A FLEXIBLE LAYOUT
DESIGN REFLECTS THE NORTHAMPTONSHIRE LANDSCAPE
THE SOUTH ELEVATION IS GLAZED FROM THE CEILING TO WITHIN 1 METRE OF FLOOR LEVEL, SHADED BY SOLAR DEFLECTORS.
THE INFORMATION ZONE ON THE MEZZANINE FLOOR OFFER ICT AND A HOMEWORK CENTRE
A STATE-OF-THE-ART LIBRARY THAT ALSO OFFERS A COMMUNITY CENTRE, WHICH HAS RAPIDLY BECOME A FOCUS OF LOCAL ACTIVITY
