The PLG weekend conference in 2008 takes place in the peaceful surroundings of Wyboston Lakes, Bedfordshire from 13th - 15th June. The conference is organised in conjunction with the Branch and Mobile Libraries Group.
The title of the PLG Conference in 2008 is "Learning our Futures Today". The theme will be around the future for library services and librarians and will look at governance, staff roles, leadership and inspiration for the future.
Director of Studies, Barry George has already booked the new Chief Executive of the MLA, Roy Clare, Tom Forrest who is well known to many librarians for his work on leadership and James Dearnley from Loughborough.
Other speakers are being lined up, there will be a panel of library users, presentations from some young library staff and some time for group work and networking. The after-dinner speaker on Saturday evening will be Simon Brett and the weekend promises to be a stimulating, thought provoking and exciting weekend.
