Images from 19th century monographs being catalogued by the Library of the Royal College of Surgeons - This is one of around 11,500 19th century works being catalogued with the generous assistance of the Research Resources in Medical History scheme set up by the Wellcome Trust. So far the funding has enabled the cataloguing of approximately 26,000 out of a total of around 28,000 items in the Royal College’s collection of tracts and pamphlets and now a third award has allowed the Library to catalogue and make available online its’ printed monograph collection from 1800-1849. The initial project began in May 2007 and aims to add details that previously only existed in the Library’s card catalogue. The bibliographic records covering the nineteenth century monographs and the rest of the library’s holdings will also be available via the Copac academic and national library catalogue from April 2008 as the College’s collections have been selected to be included as part of the second round of additions funded by the Copac Challenge Fund.
