(Above, and detail below) "Model of a town" by Thomas Sharp

From Newcastle University Library's current exhibition - Town and Townscape: the work and life of Thomas Sharp (Autumn Term). Thomas Sharp (1901-1978) was a key figure in town planning in the mid-twentieth century and his book, Town Planning, is the most widely-read ever on the subject. A collaborative project between Newcastle University's Special Collections and School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape is making a substantial repository accessible -- the project is funded by the AHRC. Ultimately, the catalogue, selected digitised images, a biographical essay, an annotated bibliography of Sharp's published works and a finding aid for other publicly-accessible Sharp material will be available at http://www.ncl.ac.uk/library/sharp.
