Welcome to Issue No. 20, our first online edition of 'School Libraries in View'. Our intention is to publish one issue per year online and another in hard copy.

This issue features reading development and reading for pleasure with ideas and activities that are stimulating and practical as the case studies show. Social inclusion matters are addressed in the article on the work of the National Library for the Blind. Finally the invaluable role of the librarian is discussed in the establishment of school intranets.

I have to correct an error in Issue No. 19 where the article entitled was incorrectly attributed in the contents page to Deirdre Wilson. The author of the article is Deirdre Morris of Ashlyns School Berkhamsted Hertfordshire.

I hope you find the articles in this issue to be of interest. Issue No 21 is due to appear in early summer 2005.
